FAIRMONT — The paint has dried and the floor tile is set, and representatives for U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin III, D-W.Va., are making their move from Morgantown to Fairmont.
In April, Manchin announced the move of one of his offices to the new location on Adams Street across from the Marion County Courthouse.
Kate Greene, the executive director of Main Street Fairmont, said the organization got the building to help the revitalization of Fairmont. The building has two business spaces on the bottom, one being occupied by Manchin’s office, and a residential space on the second floor.
Greene said the redevelopment of the building was part of an effort put on by Main Street Fairmont. She said its purpose is to promote the value of mixed-use property in downtown.
Greene said Omni Associates was a supporter in renovating the building, along with De Bellis Construction working on the interior of the building and Petrucci Brothers Construction working on the exterior of the property.
